Derived from the Sanskrit word Pippali, blackpepper is versatile spice, abundantly grown in the Malabar coast of South West India – commonly in the regions of Kerala, Goa and Karnataka.

Black Pepper grown in Kerala is one of the most sought-after spices in the world due to its complexity and versatility. Tellicherry black peppercorns are left on the vine longer to ripen than the other variants which result in their substantial size and the rich flavor. Black Pepper has a sharp and pungent aroma while maintaining a spicy and warm flavor. Black pepper is harvested from “Piper Nigrum” plant and it is indigenous to the south Indian state of Kerala.
